Having just played Erie this past weekend we were about to head on the road to play them again. I again had to work with Terry on getting the travel itinerary complete for the team. I thought it was a bit odd to play the same team back to back so early in the season. I learned again from Terry that the scheduling is one of his issues with the league. He is one of the few teams who is really trying to run his team like a professional franchise and make schedules and promote game etc. However, many teams wait and wait to get there schedule done so it delays the entire process. It was a great insight into the disparity in the league between teams.
Anyway the game only lasted about 40 some odd minutes due to weather and after many delays was then called. AFC was up 2-0 at the time and the league rules were unclear how the game was going to stand. No one new if it would count? Would they replay it from the beginning or from the time and score that it was at the time of the stoppage? Poor job on the leagues part to not have a clear rule in place as the ruling was left up to the interruption of the league office. It was very bizarre to hear and left a bad taste in my mouth about how the league runs things. Much work in terms of events like these need to be done by the NPSL for sure.
